Light Painting Photo Booth

Part photo booth, part participatory art project, the Light Painting Photo Booth allows participants to create long-exposure light paintings in realtime using fiber optics, smart LEDs, and custom-built illuminated objects. At the end of each exposure, a flash briefly illuminates participants within their painting. I have also fabricated a variety of custom LED tools for the project, including a programmable LED wand that plays back bitmap images of fluorescent microscope imagery and other science-inspired graphics.
